Description

This model kit includes RAAF decals for No. 42 Squadron “Black Cat” 1945 and No. 113 Air-Sea Rescue Flight 1945.

The PBY Consolidated Catalina flying boat was one of the most versatile aircraft of the Second World War, and was operated by virtually every Allied nation in anti-submarine, air-sea rescue, patrol and minelaying / bombing roles. Though its top speed was less than that of a modern car, it could carrry enormous weights and remain in the air for up to 32 hours.
